Remember how, earlier this week, we embarked on a failed camping trip? Retreated due to rain? Well, apparently this just isn't our week. Today it was Bonfante Gardens that defeated us. Old faithful Bonfante, the place that normally guarantees us a fun-filled day of family togetherness, lost its power. Literally. Power outage. Seriously.
We drove to the park, rode on two rides, and then made our way over to our favorite roller coaster. But as we were waiting for our coaster to leave the station, someone came on the loudspeaker to announce that the power had gone out in the entire park, and all rides would be closed indefinitely. Not sure what power was running the loudspeaker, now that I think of it....
Anyway, we hung out for a little while, and went in the Misty Maze (even though it wasn't misting because, apparently, while the loudspeakers require no power, the misting apparatus, apparently, does). We posed in the maze, as we pretty much always do:Then, because it was stinking hot and even the ice cream and lemonade vendors and water-squirting thingies were closed, we bailed. Went home to celebrate the rest of Canada Day without roller coasters and unmisty mazes. Celebrated instead with pancakes and maple syrup, under the maple tree, decked out in fancy Canadian gear (our 6th? annual package of Canada Day shwag) from my awesome cousin.
We should probably just not try to go anywhere else for awhile......
