Xcaret

Other than the fact that I was temporarily separated from the rest of the family, in a giant theme park, with no way of getting in touch with them, and all I could do was wait in one spot and hope they'd find me, we had a great day at Xcaret.

It started with some floating down an underground river, continued with a great lunch....then the Oops part where I sat waiting on one side of the park, and they sat waiting on the other....followed by a happy reunion, some great rides and attractions, and lots of awesome ruins. We wrapped up the day by eating a delicious dinner while watching a spectacular show that chronicled the history of Mexico's people.Leading us through the time of the Maya, the Spanish conquest, and then featuring a ton of regional dances, the show was dramatic, beautiful, and full of color. Trev said his favorite part was "When the Spanish came and there was all of that fighting, and they smashed the Mayan temples." Ya. Perhaps he figures that his beloved ruins wouldn't have become ruins without the arrival of the Spanish......
