The last day of vacation....

We did manage to get out of pajamas today, and run some errands, and get some fresh air, but not before we'd slept in and played and lounged this one last time before we get back to normal life.

Clara's vacation can be summed up in one word: Laptop.Santa was vehemently opposed to bringing her any kind of handheld electronic device that might lead to overuse and app addiction, but he obviously felt that a laptop would help her with her schoolwork, and allow her to play around with fun camera and video functions as a bonus. Simultaneously practical and awesome. Since we're a Mac family (and Macs are, apparently, too rich for Santa's blood), Clara gets to tackle the added challenge of mastering the PC. (It's not a challenge at all, actually....this girl is a natural with every kind of technology you can throw at her.) We've given her an obscene amount of screen time this week, as she's been getting to know her laptop, but now it's time to bring back time limits and computer tickets. Sorry, Honeybun! Back to reality..... :)

***It was so cool, by the way, to watch Clara's reaction when she spotted the laptop under the tree. She had absolutely no idea it was coming. Hee hee. Moments of absolute surprise are few and far between in life, and it was amazing to witness one.

Trevor's vacation (well, his whole year, really) can be summed up in one word: Lego.He just gets such a kick out of sorting and building and staring at his creations. This year, he's so proud that some of his new Lego kits are geared towards older builders. The Medieval Village that he's working on at the moment is for ages 12+. And he says, "I'm not even 8, but I'm such a good builder that I can do it all by myself". Love it. And I love that he still calls instructions, "ickstructions". Trev's only request is that someone come in and chat with him if he's been building for awhile, so he doesn't get lonely. I'm happy to chat, and to listen to him sing while he works. I hope this love of Lego will last for years and years to come.

Do we really have to go back tomorrow? I don't really miss work yet.....
